This report by the Design Council provides a detailed introduction to the key issues in designing for patient safety.

It proposes a framework for developing an design-led approach to patient safety along with a set of recommendations for expanding and developing good design within the field of patient safety. 

These recommendations include defining key requirements for effective design, developing processes to evaluate ease of use, and building a broader knowledge base of good design within healthcare.
