This factsheet from the Alzheimer's Society is designed for dementia patients and their carers. It helps healthcare professionals explain the legal situation, and gives some tips on stopping driving.

When someone is diagnosed with dementia they may be able to continue driving for some time but they must fulfil certain legal requirements. As the person's dementia progresses they will reach a point where they can no longer drive safely and must stop driving. This factsheet helps examine the options and legal requirements.
