Guidelines for self management of diabetes in hospital
The Joint British Diabetes Societies (JBDS) for Inpatient Care group was created in 2008 to ‘deliver a set of diabetes inpatient guidelines and proposed standards within secondary care organisations’.
It has the aim of improving inpatient diabetes care through the development and use of high quality evidence based guidelines, and through better inpatient care pathways.
These guidelines have been commissioned by the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care Group in collaboration with NHS Diabetes. The document is aimed at ward staff, podiatrists, dieticians and also those who are responsible for designing local policies.
