Hypoglycaemia in the community has been developed to advise on the recognition, treatment and prevention of hypoglycaemia in the community in adults with diabetes mellitus.

It is intended to serve as a helpful resource for a range of groups, including those caring for people with diabetes in the community, commissioners, designers of services and healthcare professionals.

The guidance was commissioned by NHS Diabetes and the recommendations have been developed by Training, Research and Education for Nurses in Diabetes (TREND-UK). Other diabetes organisations have been involved in the development of the guidance via a process of review.
