The Intrapartum Scorecard is a tool developed by the National Patient Safety Agency that can be used to collect and monitor data on staffing and activity levels in maternity units.

The toolkit provides the scorecard, a quick reference guide, frequently asked questions and a training presentation on how to use the scorecard. Scorecard data can be used prospectively plan or retrospectively evidence staffing and activity levels, along with any relevant escalation processes if necessary. This data can also support incident investigations providing measures of the situation at the time of an incident.
