This report summarises research into VTE prevention activities across over 80 hospitals and other stakeholders in Australia. It collates the evidence gathered into recommendations for health professionals, organisations, commissioners and policy makers to consider when designing VTE prevention programmes.

The team identify key barriers to VTE prevention practice and makes recommendations to address these. Supporting materials from NHMRC include “Stop the Clot” resources providing hands on guidance for hospitals based on the experiences generated from the VTE prevention programme.
