This paper in the American Journal of Public Health was the first published set of standards focused on patient safety in prisons, adapted from the emerging literature on quality improvement. The team convened a panel of correctional experts, which recommended 60 patient safety standards focusing on such issues as creating safety cultures at organisational, supervisory, and staffing levels.

This project, published in BMJ Quality Improvement Reports, utilises a multifaceted educational intervention to improve awareness of AKI as demonstrated by changes in the clinician's self-reported management of patients with AKI.

Published in June 2014 this national algorithm standardises the definition of AKI in England. The algorithm aims to provides the ability to ensure that a timely and consistent approach to the detection and diagnosis of patients with AKI is taken across the NHS. This algorithm has been endorsed by NHS England and it is recommended that the algorithm is implemented across the NHS.
